Air freight

Air freight

Air freight is used when transport time is extremely short or valuable goods are being transported. Depending on the needs, air transport can be divided into 4 main groups:

Priority air transport – highly urgent cargo with PRIORITY status assigned by the airline. Cargo with this status is handled without queuing and is loaded on and off the aircraft first. In the event of a delay on one of the flights, they are transported directly from one aircraft to the other by a dedicated vehicle. The pick-up time at airports is shorter, and the destination airport is reached with a minimum number of transit points. Transportation time to the destination airport is 24-48 hours.

General air cargo — is the most popular type of air transport — the shipments are delivered by regular or charter flights. Two-thirds of all destination airports are accessible with 1-2 intermediate transfers, so transport times to almost 70% of the world’s destinations take 3 days.

Combined air transport (air + ground) is an increasingly popular mode of air transport, whose popularity is driven by a reasonable ratio of lower fares and longer transit times. Offering a lower transport tariff allows for economies of scale, known in transport as consolidation. The principle of consolidation is the combination of small shipments at one of the airports into one large shipment. Consolidation is usually carried out every week until Friday. On Saturday, the cargo is shipped to the destination airport, cleared over the weekend, and delivered to customers by ground transport. A2 Cargo offers its customers consolidations via Frankfurt Airport (Germany). We can provide reasonable rates for shipments from North America and the Far East (Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam). Door-to-door consolidation usually takes between 9 and 14 days.

Combined air transport (sea + air + land) – In the realm of combined air transport encompassing sea, air, and land, our specialists come to the forefront when sea transport proves too time-consuming or when air freight costs surpass budget expectations. We facilitate the transport of goods from major Far Eastern seaports to the port of Dubai (UAE) by sea, followed by an air journey from Dubai (UAE) to Frankfurt (Germany), and finally, the delivery of your goods to your warehouse through land transport. The comprehensive transport process is completed within a timeframe of 25-27 days.

When opting for air transport, it is crucial to acknowledge its sensitivity. Attention must be given not only to the maximum weight of a single package but also to its dimensions, centre of gravity, nature, and constituent parts. Every detail is significant, as when flying by plane, several hundred passengers share the aircraft with your cargo, and their safety lies on the correct preparation of the cargo for transport. Although nearly all types of cargo can be transported by plane, proper preparation is paramount, and our dedicated team is always at your service.
