Air traffic restrictions during NATO summit in Vilnius

Air traffic restrictions during NATO summit in Vilnius

11-12 July, 2023 Vilnius International Airport (VNO), Lithuania’s largest and busiest airport, is set to temporarily suspend all flights, incl. cargo freighters, because of NATO summit. This proactive measure has been undertaken to prioritize the security of the high-profile event and ensure the smooth execution of essential operations. The traffic to and around airport, as well as city center and some other areas will be limited and at some points shut down. Majority of flights around these dates will be canceled or re-routed to Kaunas airport or Riga International airport.

Although the temporary closure of VNO airport may inconvenience and delay some pickups or deliveries, proactive measures are being taken by A2 Cargo to minimize disruptions and provide alternative solutions. A2 Cargo works closely with airlines, cargo terminals and has a developed Contingency plan to ensure your shipments will be handled and delivered with small or even no delays in customers’ supply chain.

Shall you have a shipment to or from Vilnius Int’l airport on 28th week of 2023, we recommend you to contact our team in advance to set up an individual logistics plan to secure smooth distribution or pickup of your valuable goods.
